Nemjo Heritage Lodge
Nemjo Heritage Lodge lies in the beautiful Vale of Paro, in Bhutan, a short 2-km ride from the center of town. The tiny Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan has become synonymous for its preservation of a unique tradition and culture and it's philosophical adherence to the principle of Gross National Happiness rather than wealth ! With this in mind, Nemjo Heritage Lodge is a restored old farm house converted into a unique sanctuary encapsulating all the hospitality and cultural aspects of an era fast disappearing.
The entire top floor has been converted into a luxurious suite with a large lounge area, its penthouse views over to neighbouring apple orchards and endless rice paddies that turn into pine forest that climb up the slopes hemming in the valley, The middle floor houses three rooms, two double rooms and a single room and the centre area is a cosy small lounge inside the spacious house, everything is painstakingly furnished with comfortable armchairs, old farm implements and traditional woodwork and paintings, TV, tea/coffee station, mini bar, and reading areas gives onto comfortable furnished bedrooms with modern ensuite toilets.
To add to your Bhutan experience, gentle walks from the lodge through the paddy fields of Nemjo village lead to the ancient Lhakhangs (Chapels), a rare insight into the tranquility and naturally pristine ambiance of the valley.
And a perfect way to unwind after an interesting day, would be to soak in traditional hot stone or a relaxing herbal bath, housed by a sparkling stream just over the wall ! Rooms can be reserved individually or should you be a Bespoke traveller, we highly recommend that the whole house be booked so that you may truly enjoy this Heritage Lodge, if only for a few days.
